The overall design of The Lakes on 8th Street hotel seeks to provide a luxurious modern retreat by combining both modern and minimalistic design styles. Incorporating natural wood tones, neutral colors, soft textures and touches of blue and green resemble the calming nature Minnesota has to offer. The use of brass and other metals, intriguing light fixtures, tinted glass, and arched windows resemble the nightlife and architecture found in the downtown area. The simple linear layout helps to provide clear wayfinding and ensure accessibility for all guests. Guest rooms will include a large window as the view of the city and natural light is highly important to the guest room design.
