Black Sheep Retreat is tucked into a secluded area a half mile from beautiful Lake Pepin in Stockholm, Wisconsin. Anders and Erika Holt own and operate this unique retreat. Their mission is to make it a relaxing, inspiring, and rejuvenating hideaway where guests can immerse themselves in nature, art, and the sound of rustling pine boughs blowing through their open windows. Black Sheep Retreat boasts unique amenities, including an art studio for painting and pottery classes and a multitude of saunas for the ultimate in mind-body detoxification. The cabins embody the Swedish term for cozy-comfort: Mysa. The farm-to-table restaurant in the main lodge serves healthful, organic meals with fruits and vegetables grown in the chef’s garden. The goal of this design is to create a retreat that is influenced by Scandinavian modernism while encouraging a feeling of relaxation. This is achieved through simple and soothing color palettes and spaces devoid of clutter. The soft textures encourage guests to sit and get comfortable and the large windows give guests views of the stunning landscape, creating a very peaceful atmosphere.
